In the recent snow, customers who have planted fodder beet, forage rape and stubble turnips have benefited from the convenience of supplement feeding.
The hay and straw stocks are very low, we will have bales to sell at harvest time although many barns are empty now.
On the Farm..
Ballinboy and Fintona are the latest, highest yielding NIAB varieties here on the farm. They have just had their first nitrogen application and flat rolling will commence in the next day or so to push in stones and flatten mole bumps, improving tillering.
We are currently cleaning Bargold amenity grass seed from Garnstone Farms on behalf of Barenbrug. This variety goes into a top amenity grass seed mixture.
We clean seed for a number of companies, please contact the office is this is a service you are interested in.
We had a wet but successful day at Westons Orchard Machinery Day held at Caerswall Farm, Much Marcle. It was nice to see our existing customers and make some new contacts.
We’ve just sent off our Trade Stand Application for Kington Horse Show, Saturday 9th September, a lovely local show we enjoy supporting. Come and meet the Whittal Seeds team, pick up our latest edition of our Seed Catalogue and see seed mixtures we have available for your farm or smallholding.
